Sell your horse or pony with us03

Recommended ad

Dear horse owner,

Thank you for your interest in my advertisement.

WHY:

I originally had the idea of becoming a Horse Agent, when I was asked by several of my livery clients to sell their horse on their behalf.  They had neither the time, nor the inclination to show their horse to potential buyers, most of whom were out for ‘a free weekend ride’!

They did not wish to sell their horse via a dealer, because, a) the dealer would offer them next to nothing for the horse and b) they wanted to know where there horse was going.

HOW:

I will arrange a convenient time to come out and visit your horse.  At this visit, I ask you to ride your horse, or if he is not ride-able for any reason, to show him in-hand.  I will then take some photos of your horse, assess his manners and for which purpose he is best suited, for instance, just hacking, hunting or as a Showjumper etc. He will then go into the appropriate category on the website.

I also ask you for some recent photographs as a back up.  Perhaps you might have a favourite one of him.  I will return these when I have finished with them.  I then get you to put together a resume of your horse, i.e, how long you have had him, what you have done with him, and where you bought him from.  I insist on seeing his passport at my visit, so please have this at hand.

At this stage, you will already have an idea of how much you want for your horse.  However, it might be that I suggest a different price if I do not feel yours to be entirely appropriate.  It is in your interest to be advised on the current market price and by the customers I have in mind for your horse.  Remember, my remit is to find a good home for him, not primarily the best price!

I then put him on my website for as long as it takes to sell him.  I will then recommend your horse to any potential customer.  Your contact details will be on my site should you wish, but I can hide them until I get a genuine customer, should you prefer.

The total charge for this service is £80.  That includes my visit time, travel costs etc and your advert on my website.

All I ask of you is that you inform me when you have sold your horse and for any feedback you might have!

I hope this all makes sense and that I can be of some help to you.

Regards,

MRS SIAN MANN, BHSAI.
